Muktidham: Geetha Bhavan
Maharaja Yogini Amma
Holy mother, Sri Sri Pothinindi Kanakadurgamma, a grihasta affectionately known as AMMA, was born in a village named Bhogapuram in the Vijayanagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. She was born into a fortunate family to the respected couple Chinnaappala Swamy and Appayamma as a blessing from Sri Gurugovindanath.
Amma always had a strong desire to help the poor and needy. She naturally lived the life of a housewife while effectively following her goal of serving people. Throughout her life, she shared spiritual knowledge with people, easily explaining it with logical reasoning and guiding them with her understanding of ancient epics. With the great support of her husband Sri Pothinindi Chandra Shekar Prabhu, Amma carried out many necessary and charitable activities alongside her household responsibilities.
Mahalakshmi Devi Temple
Sri Maha Lakshmi Peetham, a spiritual haven established by Amma in 1970, resides in Durgapuram, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. This sacred space encompasses not just the central Sri Mahalakshmi Temple, but also dedicated shrines to Panduranga Swamy, Santoshi Mata, and Dattatreya. The Peetham fosters a vibrant atmosphere that promotes devotional feelings, spiritual knowledge, and well-being.
Here, devotees can participate in various spiritual activities. Powerful rituals like Devi Navaratri, Varalakshmi Pooja during Shraavana Maasa (or Sravana Masam), and Guru Pooja at Amma Mandir fill the air with devotion. Bhajans dedicated to Panduranga Swamy, Kumkum Pooja ceremonies, and other such offerings further enrich the spiritual experience. The Peetham extends its compassion beyond religious practice. A Ghoshala, or cow sanctuary, provides care for these sacred animals. Additionally, the Annadanam program offers free meals, demonstrating the Peetham's commitment to social responsibility.

“Annam Parabrahma Swaroopam”
Amma strongly believed in the importance of Annadanam. According to Hindu scriptures, Annam (food) is a Parabrahma, the Lord Almighty. Food is God; God is love; spread love by sharing food. The belief that food is the embodiment of Parabrahma and the willingness that no one should starve, led to an activity “Nitya Annadanam” at Geetha Bhavan where people of all religions and faiths who come to its doors every day are served food.
